Din Tai Fung Kaohsiung Branch

Went on a Monday evening thinking it'll be the least busy and we ended up having to wait for 45mins to be seated. I guess this place is very popular. Dining at a Din Tai Fung in Taiwan was on my to do list and I'm glad I finally had the opportunity to do so. The food was delicious and I can see why. Highly recommend!

Din Tai Fung Kaohsiung is nothing short of a culinary revelation a restaurant that defines what it means to encounter food that stirs the soul. The dim sum here is an emotional experience: as the delicate wrapper bursts open, a rush of broth flows out, evoking the fleeting brilliance of a fireworks display. Yet, the true masterpiece of this establishment is not the dumplings but the fried rice a dish so refined it transcends mere flavor and enters the realm of art. Among the world’s finest tables, none have achieved such harmony of texture, aroma, and taste. It is, quite simply, divine a taste of heaven on earth. To have lived long enough to savor the food at Din Tai Fung Kaohsiung feels like a privilege, a reminder that perfection, though rare, does indeed exist in this world.

It is one of the most famous dimsum restaurants for handmade dim sum. There are many people at any time, so waiting is the basic. Even though it was a weekday evening, I had to wait an hour. Serving services such as employees or food that is prepared quickly to order increase customer satisfaction. I think it is a dim sum restaurant that is not the best, but gives high satisfaction.

Well i got a chance finally to dine at a Din Tai Fung in Taiwan. It was exceptionally good. I had to wait for nearly 60 minutes to be seated. Surprisingly it's the only branch in Kaohsiung and hence it's always packed. The staff were very welcoming and spoke to me in English all throughout. I ordered the prawn cake, pork chop with egg fried rice, spicy cucumber salad and pork and prawn dumpling with in house special sauce. All the food ordered was top quality. Cucumber salad has been a little overhyped by the tiktokers, it's just ok. Also the service was fast. They have mastered the preparation of their fried rice . You need to order it on a app on your phone. I didn't order the Xiaong Long Baos as I have already had it in the past at the DTF branches in Manila, Dubai and Singapore. In Taiwan for some reason they don't give you the spicy chill oil / sauce. But nevertheless a great experience and kudos to DTF for managing the crowd and keeping up the food quality to such high standards in all their branches worldwide. My bill was around 1025 ntd for all the ordered items.

Never have I ever had such fast and efficient service, food was great to top it off, and no mistakes. Wish more places take note of how they operate here. Super clean as well, food is always covered till just before you get it and tables are sanitized after each use. Plus a cool robot will lead you to your seat.

It was in B1 floor, and super crowded. Even though we were there after lunch time on a weekday, it took us ~100 minutes to wait for our turn. I guess it was because of being the only branch in Kaohsiung. As at the other branches, staff was supet friendly and professional with good English communication. Special thanks to Berry who handled our orders excellently. Beef soup and wonton soup was amazingly tasty. Xiaolongbao was the star!
